Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (born March 28, 1986), better known by her stage name Lady Gaga (inspired by the Queen song "Radio Ga Ga"), is an American pop singer-songwriter.
Lady Gaga’s performance style is raw and emotional and she has been influenced by artists such as David Bowie and Queen, as well as pop music artists such as Madonna, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.
Gaga came to prominence following the release of her debut studio album The Fame (2008), which was a commercial success and achieved international popularity with the singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face". She has been venerated and vilified for her fashion stunts. Lady Gaga clearly wants and expects a reaction, as with the notorious "meat dress" designed by Franc Fernandez. The way she dresses is part of the entire performance-art aspect of her life.
